Chrono Warfare Tier List

Ranked with the community's role framework, updated as patches land.

This tier list reflects the editorial team's read of confirmed tower details plus where community consensus lands, not a spreadsheet of hard numbers we don't have. Chrono Warfare is under active development, and BoringGames Studio rebalances towers with patches — so we only assign a letter grade to towers we have real evidence on. Everything else sits in Not Yet Rated until there's enough confirmed detail to place it responsibly. That's a deliberate choice, not a gap: a site that ranks every tower from day one is guessing on half of them.

Premier Picks

Ballista

Ancient Civilization

High-DPS ranged tower and the game's premier scalable carry. It gets even better once Pack Hunter's buff is online, which is exactly why the two show up together in most strong loadouts.

Legionary

Ancient Civilization

A free Vanguard unlock that's cheap, durable, and hits hard in melee. Level 4 partially ignores Pierce armor, and level 5 blocks stuns and stuns back — the best entrance holder around, and one that keeps scaling instead of getting replaced later.

A Tier

Strong, With a Catch

Pack Hunter

Prehistoric · Elite

An Elite tower unlocked after 15 PVP wins. Its buff synergy effectively offsets Ballista's cost, making it a genuine force multiplier — but it's locked behind a grind, so it's never a day-one pick.

Campfire

Prehistoric · Support

A support structure, not a direct attacker: it grants a range boost to nearby projectile towers plus bonus Burn for Torcher and Ranger-type towers. It's what turns Hunter from mediocre into solid.

B Tier

Solid, Situational

Hunter

Prehistoric

Early ranged damage that's easy to get going, but its short base range is a real weakness on its own. Pairs naturally with Campfire, which covers exactly that gap.

Torcher

Prehistoric

Burn damage that's good against swarms. Its value scales directly with Campfire's burn bonus, so it's a stronger pick once you already have Campfire on the field.

Not Yet Rated

Waiting on Confirmed Info

Clubman, Forge, Kiln, Farm, Archer, Plebeian, Siege Workshop, Knight, Arbalist, and Trebuchet aren't rated yet. We don't have enough confirmed detail on their stats or ability effects to place them responsibly, and guessing would defeat the point of an honest tier list. As wiki entries and patch notes fill in the gaps, we'll move them into a tier.

Two educated guesses, flagged clearly as speculation rather than fact: Farm reads as an economy tower given its name and category, and Siege Workshop / Trebuchet read as likely splash or siege candidates. Treat these as hypotheses worth watching, not rankings.

Methodology

Ratings are built on the same four-role framework used throughout this site: Entrance Holder, Scalable Carry, Splash / Multi-Hit, and Boss Melter. A tower earns its tier based on how well it fills one of those roles relative to its cost and unlock difficulty — see the Towers Guide for the full role breakdown and what's confirmed about each unit.

Chrono Warfare is under active development, and BoringGames Studio rebalances towers with patches. When a balance change lands, we recheck the towers it touches and move them if the evidence has shifted — this page is a living document, not a one-time snapshot.
